REVIEW
I was curious going into this album, pulled in by the cover art and hoping to find something dark and intriguing when I stepped through the door it depicts. In this case though, it seems the band themselves were too preoccupied to go through the door themselves, resulting in a cool but misrepresenting design and many wasted opportunities.

I'm going to say it: this album is very pretty but very boring. Caspian do absolutely nothing of note with their quaint melodies; washed out guitars; thunderous yet flat drums or apocalyptic aesthetic, essentially wasting what could make them an interesting group in favour of predictable crescendos and grandiose but shallow post-rock instrumentals that are wholly underwhelming and leave me completely cold to this record.

Is it memorable? Is it unique? Is it good? Unfortunately no, it isn't any of those things. This is, quite simply, a dull album. Could it soundtrack a dramatic post apocalyptic setting? Of course it could, but even there it would be nothing more than a placeholder for more interesting music and a sign that whoever chose to use it went with something safe rather than something interesting.
