K-391 - Ignite (Single Review)
The production of dance music has improved so much recently with artists like Zedd, Martin Garrix and Above & Beyond often lining the music up so extremely well it outshines the artist, my main problem with modern dance music. This song doesn't crush its vocalists, instead we get Julie's voice soaring across this electro house banger. I'm so pleased with what she brings to this song. The lyrics are perhaps not the most original but they're so powerful, especially when being sung by Julie Bergan.
From start to finish the energy is phenomenal, the emotion conveyed in the vocals and tempo. The music video for this song is a simple, original but enjoyable ride. It really is an emotional roller-coaster, I've cried tears of sadness and happiness watching it, and the idea of the headphones taking you to a better place is relatable and just as magical as the video makes it out to be.
I would consider myself an Alan Walker fan and I have to say the production and instrumentation on this song are great, surprisingly so!
