Nothing But Thieves - Forever & Ever More (Song Review)
How does this band keep making such amazing songs? From "Itch" to their cover of "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkly, Nothing But Thieves have many amazing songs released in the last 4 years and it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon.
It's been almost a year since their suberb sophomore Broken Machine, an album that solidified them as a true rock band. They've now announced that coming October 19th will be a brand new EP titled What Did Think When You Made Me This Way?
"Forever & Ever More" is the lead single from this EP, the title of which is a lyric in this song, and it is a promising first taste of what's to come. This song is very charged, its quick pacing and spiky riffs make it instantly recognisable and Conor's vocals are flawless as ever.
Lyrically Conor seeme twisted, struggling with a toxic relationship that's clearly hard to let go of despite its toxicity. The verses and bridge are incredible and the chorus is very catchy, all elements that help the song really land and stick with you.
The riffs might just be some of this band's best, short and sudden but clever and absolutely a contributing factor to the atmosphere of tension built in the song. This is possibly one of Nothing But Thieves' most fiery songs, burning intensely with energy and passion.
Atmosphere: 5/5
Catchiness: 4/5
Instrumentation: 5/5
Lyrics: 4/5
Production: 4/5
My overall rating would easily be a 9 out of 10, this is certainly one of the best songs of the year. I cannot wait for this EP and to see them live in November. Make sure to check out this song, it is incredible.
