Theophilus London ft. Tame Impala - Only You (Single Review)

This is a smooth, synth-infused funk jam that reminisces on the 70s and 80s with an amazing beat and just beautiful production from Tame Impala's Kevin Parker. It's part of an upcoming album that I am now highly anticipating.

Whenever Kevin Parker gets on a song, excluding Zhu's "My Life" from earlier this year, he adds something attractive and special to a song; some magical pull factor that just makes it irresistible. This is no exception, in fact it's probably one of his best works yet. Whilst we're still all waiting for his fourth album, Theophilus London looks set to release a new LP next year and Tame Impala are on at least two songs. This could make for an exciting listen, especially if it's as good as this single.

The flow here is just excellent, Theophilus gliding emotionally but effortlessly from line to line, supported by a chilled, funky beat and glossy synthesizers to back him. There's not really much else to say, other than that this is a truly excellent song in all regards.
